Ohio EPA Bronze Environmental Excellence Award
AGMET Oakwood Village and Maple Heights facilities are recognized by the State of Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for completing environmentally beneficial activities to reduce manufacturing waste generated by our Oakwood and Maple Heights facilities while increasing the amount of materials processed; employee involvement program to improve recycling rates; environmentally preferable purchasing activities; and use of best management practices to reduce unregulated wastes.
Agmet has reduced outgoing trash and debris from 1.36% of the materials accepted for processing in 2011 to 0.28% in 2013. Agmet is working with other recyclers and waste companies to develop programs and identify methods to achieve our goal of 100% recycling of all incoming materials, materials from facility internal processes and packaging by 2015.
The Encouraging Environmental Excellence (E3) program at Ohio EPA recognizes organizations committed to environmental excellence at all levels. The program targets those who reduce waste, improve efficiency and work to continuously improve as an environmental steward.
